RHNA + Housing Element = 9,000 New Berkeley Units

Please join us in person on Wednesday, May 11 at 8:00am at Spats, 1974 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley for a presentation on the status of Berkeley’s update to the General Plan’s Housing Element.

Berkeley’s update to the Housing Element is the city’s housing plan for the next eight years. Under goals set by the State of California, Berkeley’s Housing Element must plan to accommodate nearly 9,000 new units, at all levels of affordability, by 2031. At this meeting we will learn how the State set this goal for Berkeley and discuss what new programs and policies the City Council is considering to achieve this ambitious target.
